Programming a Start Time
Make sure that the current time is set correctly on the base. Press
and hold the PROG button for 2 seconds and “Start Time” will
flash. If the preset temperature is set to 212ºF (100ºC), the Preset
Temp will default to the lowest setting of 160ºF (70ºC).
The default start time is 19:99. Change the default time by
pressing the HOUR button until correct hour is displayed in AM
or PM, then press MINUTE button to set desired time. After 3
seconds the Start Time clock will stop flashing to confirm setting
is complete. Press the PROG button again to activate the Start
Time function. A red light will illuminate around the PROG button
to confirm Start Time setting.
NOTE: “212ºF (100°C) Black Tea/Herbal Tea/Boil” is not available
for the Start Time setting.
To change the Start Time if previously set, press and hold the
PROG button for 2 seconds and the Prog light will flash. Change
settings as previously described. Prog light will turn off after 3
seconds to confirm the Start Time setting. Press the PROG button
to activate the Start Time. The light will illuminate to confirm
setting.
If no change is being made to the Start Time, press the PROG
button to activate the Start Time. The light will illuminate to
confirm setting.
When the Start Time equals the actual time, the Prog light will
shut off and the ON/OFF light will be illuminated. The Start Time,
Preset Time, and Keep Warm time (if it has been set) will be
stored in the memory. When the Start Time has elapsed, the base
will chime two times and switch to Keep Warm. Once the Keep
Warm time has elapsed, the base will double-chime three times
and shut off.
If kettle floor discolors: It is normal for stainless steel heating
elements to discolor. This does not affect the performance of the
Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners since this
may damage the stainless steel surface.
If Kettle boils dry: The heating element is protected by two
automatic safety devices. If your Kettle is accidentally switched
on without being filled with water, or is allowed to boil dry, the
Kettle will automatically switch off and display will show “---”.
You should:
• Press ON/OFF (I/ ) button to turn OFF ( ), unplug, and
wait about 20 minutes for the element to cool
• Refill the kettle; then use as normal and check that the
Kettle functions correctly.
If Kettle does not work: Make these simple checks before calling
the toll-free customer assistance number:
• Have you pressed the ON/OFF (I l/ ) button to ON ( )
position?
• If the
Kettle
heats but does not boil, it might need
descaling (see “Care and cleaning” section).
• Has the
Kettle
been accidentally turned on without being
filled with water or allowed to boil dry? Press the ON/
OFF (I/ ) button to OFF ( ), wait 20 minutes, and try
again.
• Is cord firmly plugged into the outlet and
Kettle
firmly
seated in the base?
Anti-Scale Mesh Filter: Scale is caused
by lime and calcium in hard water.
The Mesh Filter will prevent these
suspended particles from being poured
out of the Kettle. The filter should be
cleaned periodically to ensure optimum
performance.
To clean the filter, unplug Kettle and
allow to cool. Pull up on the filter tab to
slide filter out.
To replace filter, line up the filter with tab towards the inside of the
Kettle and slide into place until it snaps into place.
Tea Guide
• Bring filtered or good-tasting tap water to a boil in the
Kettle. Use 6 ounces (177 ml) of water per cup of tea.
• If using loose tea instead of tea bags, measure 1 rounded
teaspoon of tea per cup into an infuser and place the
infuser in the cup. If no infuser is available, put the tea
directly into the cup.
• Pour heated water directly over the tea. For stronger
tea, add more leaves rather than infusing longer than is
recommended.
NOTE: Tea that is oversteeped will become bitter.
NOTE: These temperature settings can vary depending on a
number of factors, such as altitude, impurities in the water, and
the amount of water in the Kettle.

1. Plug into outlet. The base will chime and display the Plug
into outlet. The base will chime and display the current
kettle temperature; the current time will flash 0:00; the
start time will show 19:99; the keep warm time will show
0; and the default temperature setting “212°F (100°C) Black
Tea/Herbal Tea/Boil” will show.
2. Set time by pressing HOUR button until correct hour is
displayed in AM or PM, then press MINUTE button until
the current time is displayed.
3. Set the temperature display to °F or °C by pressing
PRESET TEMP and KEEP WARM simultaneously.
Boiling Water
Press the ON/OFF (I/ ) button and the light ring will show
red to indicate heating. The base will show the current
temperature of the water. As the water is heated, the
segments on the thermometer icon will display at the preset
temperature intervals. Once the Kettle has finished and the
water is boiling, the base will double-chime three times.
Changing Preset Temperatures
Press the PRESET TEMP button to scroll down the
thermometer icon until the desired preset temperature is
highlighted.
If the water temperature in the Kettle is above the preset
temperature, the base will double-chime three times and
shut off automatically. Be sure that the preset temperature is
higher than the water temperature in the Kettle.
Setting a Keep Warm Time
Press the KEEP WARM button anytime before the heating
cycle ends. To set the desired Keep Warm time, press the
KEEP WARM button until the desired Keep Warm time is
displayed. Once the preset temperature has been reached,
the base will double-chime three times and start the
Keep Warm countdown timer counting down in 1-minute
increments. When the timer is finished counting down, the
base will double-chime three times and turn off automatically.
CAUTION
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill Kettle. Boiling water
may spit out of the spout.
How to Use the Kettle
BEFORE FIRST USE:
Flip open lid and fill Kettle with water to the
MAX fill line on the Water Level Window. Press ON/OFF (I/ )
button to turn the Kettle ON ( ). The Kettle will bring the water I
to a boil, then shut off automatically. Discard water and repeat
2–3 times, rinsing out the kettle each time. The Kettle is now
ready for use.
Care and Cleaning
w WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse
Kettle, Power Base, or plug in water or any other liquid.
1. With Kettle unplugged, empty any remaining water
and rinse. Allow Kettle to cool. The Mesh Filter may be
removed by pulling up on the filter tab which is visible
through the kettle opening. The filter will drop into the
kettle cavity.
2. To replace the filter in the spout, position the filter with
tabs toward spout and press filter until it fits into place.
3. To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty Kettle after
each use. To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit
from heating element: Place 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cream
of tartar (available in the spice aisle of grocery store) into
the Kettle. Then fill the Kettle 1/2 full with water. Plug into
outlet, turn ON (I), and bring to boil. Turn OFF ( ), let
cool, and rinse several times with clean tap water.
4. Wipe the exterior of the Kettle with a damp cloth. Do not
use abrasive scouring pads or powders since they may
scratch the smooth surface of the Kettle.

l’eau dans la bouilloire.
Pour régler une durée de garde au chaud
Appuyer sur le bouton KEEP WARM (garde au chaud) en tout
temps avant la fin du cycle de chauffage. Pour régler la durée de
garde au chaud souhaitée, appuyer sur le bouton KEEP WARM
(garde au chaud) jusqu’à ce que la durée voulue s’affiche. Dès que
la température préréglée est atteinte, la base émettra un tintement
double à trois reprises et commencera le compte à rebours de
la minuterie de garde au chaud par incréments d’une minute.
Lorsque le compte à rebours est terminé, la base émettra un
tintement double à trois reprises puis s’éteindra automatiquement.
1. Brancher dans la prise de courant. La base tintera et
affichera la température actuelle de la bouilloire, l’heure
actuelle clignotera 0:00, la durée du programme affichera
19:00, la durée de chauffage indiquera 0 et le réglage de
température par défaut « 100°C Dark Tea/Herbal Tea/Boil »

2. Régler la durée en appuyant sur le bouton HOUR (heure)
puis MINUTE jusqu’à ce que l’heure actuelle s’affiche.
3. Régler l’affichage de température en °F ou °C en appuyant
simultanément sur PRESET TEMP (préréglage de
température) et KEEP WARM (garde au chaud).
Programmation de l’heure de mise en marche
S’assurer que l’heure actuelle affichée sur la base est exacte.

(minute) pour régler l’heure désirée. Modifier l’heure par défaut en
appuyant sur le bouton « HOUR » (heure) jusqu’à ce que l’heure
AM ou PM s’affiche puis appuyer sur le bouton « MINUTE »
(minute) pour régler l’heure désirée. Après 3 secondes, l’horloge
de l’heure de mise en marche cessera de clignoter pour confirmer
la fin du réglage. Appuyer à nouveau sur le bouton PROG
(programmation) pour activer la fonction d’heure de mise en
marche.
REMARQUE : température de 100 °C (212 °F) pour le thé noir/thé
aux herbes/bouillir n’est pas disponible pour le réglage de l’heure
de mise en marche.
Lorsque l’heure de mise en marche est identique à l’heure
actuelle, le témoin PROG (programmation) s’éteindra et le témoin
de marche arrêt (I/O) s’allumera. L’heure de mise en marche, la
durée préréglée et la durée de garde au chaud (si elles ont été
configurées) seront sauvegardées en mémoire. Lorsque l’heure de
mise en marche est passée, la base émettra un tintement double
et passera à la fonction de garde au chaud. Dès que la durée de
garde au chaud est terminée, la base émettra un tintement double
à trois reprises puis s’éteindra.
Pour modifier l’heure de mise en marche réglée préalablement,
appuyer et maintenir le bouton PROG (programmation) pendant 2
secondes et le témoin PROG clignotera.
Modifier les réglages comme décrit auparavant. Le témoin PROG
(programmation) s’éteindra après 3 secondes pour confirmer le
réglage de l’heure de mise en marche. Appuyer sur le bouton
PROG (programmation) pour activer l’heure de mise en marche.
Le témoin s’allumera pour confirmer le réglage.
Si aucune modification de l’heure de mise en marche n’est
nécessaire, appuyer sur le bouton PROG (programmation) pour
activer l’heure de mise en marche. Le témoin s’allumera pour
confirmer le réglage.
Si le fond de la bouilloire se décolore : L’acier inoxydable des
éléments chauffants décoloré est normal. Ceci ne nuit pas au
fonctionnement de la bouilloire. Ne pas utiliser de tampons à
récurer ou nettoyants, car ils pourraient endommager la surface
en acier inoxydable.
Si la bouilloire a chauffé à vide :
L’élément chauffant est protégé par
deux dispositifs de sécurité
automatiques. Si la bouilloire vide est
mise sous tension accidentellement
et chauffe à vide, la bouilloire se
mettra automatiquement hors
tension. Quoi faire :
• Appuyer l’interrupteur
I/
(marche/arrêt) à hors tension
( ), débrancher et laisser
refroidir l’élément chauffant
pendant environ 20 minutes.
• Remplir la bouilloire puis utiliser en mode normal
et vérifier le bon fonctionnement des fonctions de
la bouilloire.
Si la bouilloire ne fonctionne pas : Effectuer ces quelques
vérifications simples avant d’appeler la ligne sans frais du service
à la clientèle :
AVANT LA PREMIÈRE UTILISATION : Ouvrir le couvercle et
remplir la bouilloire d’eau jusqu’au niveau gradué MAX. Appuyer
sur l’interrupteur

(marche/arrêt) pour mettre la bouilloire en
marche ( ). La bouilloire portera l’eau à ébullition puis se mettra I
hors tension automatiquement. Jeter l’eau et répéter cette étape
2 à 3 fois en rinçant chaque fois la bouilloire. La bouilloire est
maintenant prête à utiliser.

être équivalentes ou supérieures aux caractéristiques de
l’appareil. Si cet appareil est doté d’une fiche avec mise à
la terre, la rallonge doit également posséder une prise avec
mise à la terre. Prendre toutes les précautions nécessaires
pour installer la rallonge de manière à ne pas la faire courir
sur le comptoir ou sur une table et pour éviter qu’un enfant
ne tire sur le cordon ou trébuche accidentellement.

cord as this may damage the cord and eventually cause

15. Do not allow kettle to boil dry.
16. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-
wattage appliance on the same circuit.
17. Scalding may occur if the lid is opened during the
heating cycle.
18. Be certain kettle lid is securely in place during operation
and when pouring hot water. Do not use force when
placing lid on kettle.
