the meter. Non-warranty repair or replacement charges should be
remitted in the form of a check, a money order, credit card with
expiration date, or a purchase order made payable to Amprobe®
Test Tools.

Please read the warranty statement and check your battery before
requesting repair. During the warranty period any defective test
tool can be returned to your Amprobe® Test Tools distributor
for an exchange for the same or like product. Please check the

WARNING and PRECAUTIONS
• Do not operate the meter in explosive gas
(material), combustible gas (material) steam or
lled with dust.
• Keep the instrument dry.
• Keep the probe clean.
• Keep the instrument and battery out of reach of
infant and child.
• Some factors (such as material type and
temperature) can affect moisture measurement
result and may make it necessary to correct the
displayed value.

Your shipping carton should include:

If any of the items are damaged or missing, return
the complete package to the place of purchase for an
exchange.

INTRODUCTION
Moisture meters MT-10 can be used to measure the
amount of water in the wood or building material so
that the woodworker can determine if it is suitable for
the intended purpose. Building inspectors, carpenters,
hobbyists, and other woodworkers often are required
to have moisture meters. Wood flooring installers, for
example, have to verify that the moisture of the wood
matches the relative humidity in the air of the building.
If this step is skipped, a vast array of problems may
present itself: cracking, cupping, crowning, buckling,
sunken joints, and cracked finishes.
OPERATION
1. Press the POWER ON/OFF button once to turn on
the instrument
2. Selecting desired Measurement Mode
a) After the instrument has been turned on, press
and hold down the button for about 3 seconds
to enter Setting Mode (reading disappears,
symbol starts flickering on the display).
b) While symbol is flickering on the display, press
the button until the meter is in the desired
measurement mode and the corresponding
symbol flickers on the display.
The four modes are as follows:
Wood moisture measurement mode
(“ “flickers), material moisture measurement
mode (“ “flickers), Celsius temperature
measurement mode (“ “flickers), Fahrenheit °C
temperature measurement mode (“ “flickers).°F
c) After the desired measurement mode is
selected, don’t operate the instrument. About 3
seconds later, the instrument exits Setting Mode
automatically. Now you can start measurement.

3. Performing Measurement
a) For temperature measurements, the display
shows the present environment temperature
directly.
b) To perform moisture measurements, drive
the probes into the wood or material to be
measured, read the reading on the display.
4. Automatic Power-Off Feature
a) In wood moisture or material moisture
measurement mode, if you don’t operate the
instrument (or the reading does not change)
for about 1 minute, the instrument will turn off
automatically.
b) In Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature
measurement mode, the instrument will turn
off automatically about 1 minute later. After
the instrument is turned on, pressing the button
turns on the backlight. About 15 seconds later,
the backlight turns off automatically.
5. MOISTURE READINGS (LED)
Green - indicates “air-dry” conditions.
Yellow - indicates increased moisture.
Red - indicates excess moisture.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
If there appears to be a malfunction during the
operation of the meter, the following steps should be
performed in order to isolate the cause of the problem.
1. Check the battery. Replace the battery
immediately when the “ ” symbol appears on
the LCD.
2. Review the operating instructions for possible
mistakes in operating procedure.
Except for the replacement of the battery, repair of the
meter should be performed only by a Factory Authorized
Service Center or by other qualified instrument service
personnel. The front panel and case can be cleaned with
a mild solution of detergent and water. Apply sparingly
with a soft cloth and allow to dry completely before
using. Do not use aromatic hydrocarbons or chlorinated
solvents for cleaning.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Requires one standard 9V battery. Battery compartment
is located on the bottom of the meter
1. Lift clip to access the battery compartment.
2. Connect a new 9V battery.
3. Replace the cover and securely snap in place. The
meter is now ready for use.

MISES EN GARDE ET PRECAUTIONS
• Ne pas utiliser l’instrument en présence de
poussières, de vapeurs et de gaz (matière)
explosifs, de gaz (matière) combustibles.
• Garder l’instrument au sec.
• Garder la sonde propre.
• Garder l’instrument et la batterie hors de portée
des jeunes enfants.
• Certains facteurs (le type de matériau ou la
température par exemple) affectent les résultats
des mesures d’humidité et obligent l’opérateur à
corriger la valeur afchée.
DéBALLAGE ET INSPECTION
Le carton d’emballage doit inclure les éléments suivants :

Si l’un de ces éléments est endommagé ou manquant,
renvoyez le contenu complet de l’emballage au lieu
d’achat pour l’échanger.

INTRODUCTION
Les hygromètres MT-10 peuvent être utilisés pour
mesurer la quantité d’eau dans le bois ou les matériaux
de construction afin que le travailleur du bois puisse
déterminer leur adaptation à l’objectif voulu. Les
inspecteurs des bâtiments, les charpentiers, les amateurs
de bricolage et autre travailleurs du bois exigent souvent
l’utilisation d’hygromètres. Les installateurs de parquets
doivent vérifier par exemple que l’humidité du bois
corresponde à l’humidité relative de l’air du bâtiment.
Si cette phase est ignorée, divers problèmes peuvent se
présenter : fissures, gondolement, bombage, flambage,
joints affaissés et finitions crevassées.
FONCTIONNEMENT
1. Appuyez une fois sur le bouton POWER ON/OFF
pour mettre l’instrument sous tension
2. Sélection du mode de mesure souhaité
a) Une fois l’instrument mis sous tension, appuyez
et maintenez le bouton pendant environ
3 secondes pour passer en mode de réglage
Setting (la valeur affichée disparaît, le symbole
se met à clignoter sur l’affichage).
b) Tandis que le symbole clignote sur l’affichage,
appuyez sur le bouton jusqu’à ce que le
compteur soit dans le mode de mesure souhaité
et que le symbole correspondant scintille sur
l’affichage.
Les quatre modes sont les suivants :

température en Celsius (« » scintille), mode °C
de mesure de température en Fahrenheit

c) Une fois le mode de mesure souhaité
sélectionné, n’utilisez pas l’instrument.
Après environ 3 secondes, il quittera
automatiquement le mode de réglage Setting.
Vous pouvez maintenant démarrer la mesure.
3. Les mesures
a) Pour les mesures de température, l’affichage
montre directement la température de
l’environnement actuelle.
b) Pour effectuer des mesures d’hygrométrie,
enfoncez les sondes dans le bois ou le matériau
à mesurer et lisez la valeur affichée.
4. Fonction d’arrêt automatique
a) Dans le mode de mesure hygrométrique sur
le bois ou un matériau, l’instrument s’éteint
automatiquement si vous n’utilisez pas
l’instrument (ou si la valeur reste affichée) s’il
n’est pas utilisé pendant 1 minute.
b) Mode de mesure des températures en
Celsius ou Fahrenheit, l’instrument s’éteint
automatiquement 1 minute plus tard.
Lorsque l’instrument est activé, la pression
du bouton allume le rétroéclairage. Environ
15 secondes plus tard, le rétroéclairage s’éteint
automatiquement.
5. LECTURES D’HUMIDITE (DEL)
Vert - indique des conditions « d’air sec ».
Jaune - indique une humidité accrue.
Rouge - indique une humidité excessive.

ENTRETIEN ET REPARATION
Si une anomalie est suspectée pendant le
fonctionnement du multimètre, procédez comme suit
pour isoler la cause du problème.
1. Vérifiez la pile. Remplacez immédiatement
les piles à l’apparition du symbole “ ” sur
l’écran LCD.
2. Consultez les consignes d’utilisation pour vérifier
les erreurs possibles lors de l’utilisation.
A l’exception du changement des piles, la réparation de
l’appareil doit être effectuée en usine dans un centre de
service agréé ou par un autre personnel de réparation
qualifié. La face avant et le boîtier peuvent être
nettoyés à l’aide d’une solution légère à base d’eau et
de détergent. Appliquez cette solution avec modération
en utilisant un tissu doux et laissez bien sécher avant
l’utilisation. N’utilisez pas de solvants à base de chlore ou
d’hydrocarbures aromatiques pour le nettoyage.
CHANGEMENT DES PILES
Requiert une pile standard de 9 V. Le compartiment de la
pile est situé sur la partie inférieure de l’appareil.
1. Soulevez la pince pour accéder au compartiment
de la pile.
2. Mettez en place une pile neuve de 9 V.
3. Replacez le capot et refermez-le. Le capot émet
un déclic. L’hygromètre est maintenant prêt à
être utilisé.

formuliert werden.
Garantiereparaturen oder -austausch – Alle Länder
Bitte die Garantieerklärung lesen und die Batterie prüfen, bevor
Reparaturen angefordert werden. Während der Garantieperiode
können alle defekten Geräte zum Umtausch gegen dasselbe oder
