Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and then save
it for future reference. We reserve theright for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technical data. In theevent of technical problems or
other queries, please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
Theproduct should not be taken apart or modified. Never try to open thecasing.
Do not place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into water or other liquid.
Do not place theproduct in constant sunlight or near naked flames such as
wood stoves or lit candles.
Never subject theproduct to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture.
Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged periods can lead
to permanent hearing loss.
Repairs must only be carried out by authorised service personnel and only using
genuine spare parts.
Theproduct must not be used close to medical equipment such as in intensive
care units. Neither should it be used in close proximity to someone with
animplanted pacemaker, cardioverter-defibrillator or similar.
Never use theproduct if it has been damaged in any way.
Never let children play with theproduct.
Product description
Operating instructions
Recharging the battery
Connect theradio to acomputer or other USB charging device using
theincluded USB cable. Charge thebattery fully before using it for thefirst time.
Charging time: approximately 2 hours
Thebattery icon in thebottom right corner of thedisplay indicates thebattery
charge status.
Switching on/off
Switch theradio on by holding in [ ] until thedisplay illuminates.
Hold thebutton in again to switch off.
FM or DAB radio
Quick-press [ ] to toggle between FM and DAB radio.
Changing the menu language
Hold in [ ENTER ] for 5 seconds until thecurrent language appears on thedisplay.
Hold thebutton in for another 5 seconds to change to thenext language, and so on
until your choice of language appears.
Listening to FM radio
1. Switch theradio on and connect apair of headphones.
2. Quick-press [ is displayed. ] until FM mode
There are two ways to save stations:
Selecting one of the preset stations
1. Carry strap anchor point
2. [ Torch on/off. Hold in to switch on, ]
release to switch off.
3. [ TUN+ ] [ TUN− ] Next/previous preset station
or search for radio stations at ahigher or
lower frequency.
4. [ ENTER ] Toggles between thefunctions:
Manual, Pre-scan (PS) and Select preset
station (MEM). Saves station presets.
5. [ VOL+ ] [ VOL− ] Volume
6. [ ] On/off, select FM radio or DAB radio mode
7. Torch
8. 3.5 mm headphone socket
9. USB port for theincluded charger cable
Note: If [ ENTER ] (4) and [ ] (6) are held in at
the same time for 10 sec the radio will enter a
software update mode which is only for factory
use. The radio will then be locked and unusable.
To reset: At the bottom of the 3.5 mm headphone
socket (8) there is reset button. Carefully press
the button using a suitable object such as a
straightened paper clip. The button is at the front
of the base of the 3.5 mm socket as shown in
the picture.
Normal mode (only
frequency shown on
thedisplay).
Automatic station scanning and saving
(“PSXX” shows under thefrequency on
thedisplay XX=number of stations).
Normal mode
1. Quick-press [ ENTER ] until only thefrequency is displayed.
2. Quick-press [ TUN+ ] or [ TUN− ] to manually set thedesired station higher
or lower in thefrequency band or hold in to let theradio search for stations.
Theradio scans automatically for stations and stops when it finds one.
3. Hold in [ ENTER ] for 2 seconds to store thecurrent station in thememory.
Amaximum of 32 stations can be saved/preset.
4. “PXX” will appear on thedisplay (e.g. “P01” which indicates preset station 1).
Automatic station scan
1. Quick-press [ ENTER ] until both thefrequency and “PSXX” are displayed.
2. Hold in [ TUN+ ] or [ TUN− ] to automatically search for available stations.
3. Once thescan is complete thecurrent station and “PSXX” will be displayed (e.g.
it might show “PS13” which means that 13 stations were found).
4. Quick-press [ TUN+ ] or [ TUN− ] to toggle between thestations which have been
found.
5. Hold in [ ENTER ] for 2 seconds to store thecurrent station in thememory.
Amaximum of 32 stations can be saved/preset.
1. When stations have been preset, you can see how many
there are and select one of them.
2. Quick-press [ ENTER ] until thefrequency, “PSXX” and
“MEM”are all displayed. “MEM” indicates thenumber of
preset stations, e.g., “MEM5”. If no stations have Note:
been saved in thememory, “MEM” will not be displayed.
3. Quick-press [ TUN+ ] or [ TUN− ] to select apreset station.
Deleting preset stations
1. Quick-press [ ENTER ] until thefrequency, “PXX” and “MEM”are all displayed.
2. Hold in [ ENTER ] and [ ] at thesame time to delete theselected station.
Listening to DAB radio
1. Switch theradio on and connect apair of headphones.
2. Quick-press [ is displayed. ] until DAB mode
3. Scan for, save and delete stations in thesame way as for FM radio stations
explained above.
Care and maintenance
Clean theradio by wiping it with adry cloth.
Store theradio in adry, dust-free environment at room temperature and out of
children’s reach whenever it is not to be used for along time. Charge thebattery
fully every second month to maintain thebattery capacity.
Troubleshooting guide
Theradio will
not switch on.
Hold [ ] in to switch theradio on.
Thebattery might be flat. Recharge thebattery.
Poor or non-
existent radio
reception.
Make sure that apair of headphones is properly connected
to theradio. Thecable acts as anantenna.
Move theradio to another location.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with general
household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order to prevent
any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by incorrect waste
disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling so that thematerial can
be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When recycling your product, take it
to your local collection facility or contact theplace of purchase. They will ensure
that theproduct is disposed of in anenvironmentally sound manner.
