INSTALLATION AND OPERATION:
1. Slide output diffuser (C) on round opening on lower portion of skimmer body (B).
2. Thread and secure electrical cord with cord clip (F).
3. Position surface skimmer in an area of the aquarium with the least flow.
4. Position surface skimmer within aquarium below water level, while ensuring the neck of
the floating intake assembly (A) extends above skimmer body by approximately 1” / 2.5 cm.
The floating intake assembly is self-levelling and will adjust as water evaporates. Once in
position, secure surface skimmer to interior aquarium wall using the 3 suction cups provided.
5. To avoid levelling issues, ensure electrical cord and floating intake assembly do not
come into contact with each other.
6. Plug in power cord to begin surface skimmer operation.
7. Adjust skimming intensity by turning intake regulator dial (D).
8. Regulate flow strength by adjusting the flow control slider (E).
MAINTENANCE:
1. CAUTION: Unplug all appliances in the aquarium before carrying out maintenance.
2. Remove surface skimmer from aquarium.
3. Detach skimmer body from motor, remove and rinse sponge (every few weeks).
Rinse more frequently in aquariums with heavier surface film accumulation.
4. Impeller should be cleaned monthly to ensure optimal functionality.
Yearly replacement is recommended (Item #A16685).
5. Calcium build-up on surface skimmer parts may be removed by adding a mix of
water and vinegar into a bucket and soaking components. Never submerge electrical plug.
6. Rinse components thoroughly with fresh water.
7. Once maintenance is completed, reassemble surface skimmer and reinstall
using instructions above.
