Precautions

Location

Using the unit in the following locations can result in a malfunction.

• In direct sunlight

• Locations of extreme temperature or humidity.

• Excessively dusty or dirty locations.

• Locations of excessive vibration.

• Close to magnetic elds.

Power supply

Be sure to turn the power switch to OFF when the unit is not in use.

Remove the battery in order to prevent it from leaking when the unit is

not in use for extended periods.

Interference with other electrical devices

Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interfer-

ence. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.

Handling

To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or

controls.

Care

If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use

liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or

ammable polishes.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment

Never set any container with liquid in it near this equipment. If liquid gets

into the equipment, it could cause a breakdown, re, or electrical shock.

Installing the battary

 Whenyouinstallorreplacethebaery,makesuretoturn

thepoweroaerdetachingtheRimpitchfromtheguitar.

When the baery begins to run low, the green LED at the

center of meter ( ) becomes dark. Further running out

causes ashing of the note name indicator LED and the LED

meter will not function smoothly. In this case, replace the

baery as soon as possible.

oftheRimpitch,pushthebaerycoverindirectionA

andpushittoopenitup.

2. Makingsuretoobservethecorrectpolarity,insertthe

baerysothatthe“+”sideofthebaeryisvisible.

3. Returnthebaerycovertoitsoriginalposition.

Attaching to the instrument

Aach the Rimpitch to the lower side of the sound hole so

that the display is easy to read when you place the guitar

into playing position. The Rimpitch detects the pitch and

tunes by picking up the vibrations of the guitar.

 TheRimpitchcanbeaachedtoanyguitarwherethesound

holehasacirclediameterof100mm+/-3mm.

 Pleasecarefullyaach the Rimpitchtoyourinstrument.

LeavingtheRimpitchaachedforalongperiodoftimemay

damageormarktheinstrument’ssurface.

 Dependingonvariousfactorssuchasage-relatedchangeor

thesurfacenish,thereisapossibilitythatyourinstrument

maybedamagedbyaachingthisproduct.

 AachtheRimpitchtotheguitarusingbothhandstoprevent

itsfallingintothesoundhole.

Tuning

1. Pressthe power buon.The power willturnon/o

eachtimeyoupressthisbuon.

If the power is le on for approximately 10 minutes

without any user input, it will turn o automatically.

2. Playasinglenoteonyourinstrument.Thenotenamein-

dicatorwilllightupthat'sclosesttothepitchdetected.

Tune your instrument to the correct pitch so that the

desired note name lights up.

3. Onceagainplayasinglenoteonyourinstrument,and

adjustthetuningsothatonlythecentersegmentof

themeter(indicatedby )islitupbrightly.

An indicator toward the right will light up if the pitch is

too high( ), and an indicator toward the le will light

up if the pitch is too low( ).

The pitch is sharp.

The pitch is slightly sharp.

The pitch is slightly flat.

In tune.

The pitch is flat.



Evenifthepitchiswithintherangeofdetection,itmaynotbe

possibletodetectthepitchofaninstrumentalsoundthatcontains

largenumbersofovertonesorasoundthathasarapiddecay.



ronment;however,thiswillnotaecttuningoftheinstrument.
