MICROPHONE
he AKG/Crown PCC130 is a surface-mounted
miniature cardioid microphone of profes-
sional quality. This handsomely styled unit is
appropriate for use on the most elegant board-
room table or lectern. Other applications include
churches, courtrooms and teleconferencing.
The PCC130 s e same performance as theha th
PCC170, but smaller, less conspicuousis so it is
on a conference table. Because its highly direc- of
tional pickup pattern, the PCC130 minimizes
background noise and feedback.
The microphone uses e principle of phaseth
coherency achieved by mounting a small-diameter
mic capsule very near a boundary. Direct and
reected sound waves arrive at e c -phase,th mi in
and coherently. This enhances sensitivity, add
clarity and reach.
Self-contained electronics eliminate e need forth
an by -line power module. Powered in -12 48V
phantom , e PCC130 s a low-imped- power th ha
ance balanced output which permits long cable
runs without hum pickup or high-frequency loss.
Capable of withstanding up to 120 dB without SPL
distortion, the PCC130 will never overload in
practical use. s electret-condenser capsuleIt
provides a wide, smooth frequency response from
50 Hz to 20 kHz. RFI suppression is included. Self-
noise low and sensitivity very high. A bass-tilt is is
switch allows the user tailor the low-end to
response for particular applications.
Permanent mounting enabled screw holes is by in
the base. Engineering attention-to-detail has
assured years of reliable e from this trouble-free us
microphone.
The PCC130 SW (right) has a silent-operating
programmable membrane switch that can be
congured for touch ON/OFF, momentary ON
or momentary OFF. A high-intensity LED lights
when the unit is on.
For easy installation, both microphones oer an
XLR connector and a detachable cable.
The bottom of e microphone features a three-th
position -TILT switch: FLAT, CUT, BASS and
BOOST. Low-frequency response is adjustable as
shown in Fig. 1.
Installation
Typical placement r each microphone is at fo arm’s
length from e user. Either place e micro- th on
phone in front of each person or e betweenon
every o people. e front of e microphone tw Th th is
indicated by an arrow on e bottom of e baseth th
plate.
If e microphone is used on a lectern, place it th on
an open surface, t in a cavity. Otherwise theno
