overview
Pla a discard pile, adding up the numbers along the way. If you ake
a pile al exactly 11, give those cards to an opponent. But watch out for the
Librarian, who’s out to damper your decibels! To win, be the player with the fewest
cards at the end of the game.
setup
Shuf e the deck and deal each player 3 cards, face down. (Look at your cards, but keep
them secret from your opponents.) Stack the rest of the cards face down in the center
of the playing area to form a draw pile. Draw the top card and place it face up next to
the draw pile to form the main discard pile. (If you draw a Quiet! or Eleven card, draw
another card and place it on top of it.)
Note: The main game does not use the guitar pick. SeePick On Me” for that variant.
special cards
how to play
The game starts with the player who last listened to a guitar solo and play continues to
the left. On your turn, place one of your three cards on the discard pile. If its a regular
number card (1-9), add the number to the previous discard pile total, and announce the
new total out loud to the group. (For example, if the previous total was 5 and you played
a 4, say “9”. ) Then draw back up to three cards.
Four different situations might happen when you play a number card:

ending the game
The game ends when the draw pile is out and all players are out of cards.
All players count up their cards and whoever has the fewest wins.
SAME NUMBER SPLIT.
You cannot play the same number cards on top of one another. If you want to (or have to)
play the same number, place it next to the discard pile to start a new pile. (There can be
multiple discard piles in play at any time.) On future turns, all players can decide on which
pile to play their cards.
a word from gamewright
We always knew there was a ne line between card games and rock and roll,
but this game takes it to a whole new level. This Game Goes to Eleven has
all the makings of a classic rock song Its short, its full of energy and most
importantly – it’s easy to pressplay
-
> repeat. Rock on!
PICK ON ME
This version plays exactly like the regular
game. The main difference is it uses the
guitar pick to designate which player
receives cards when a pile goes to 11.
To start, give the guitar pick to the
player who goes rst. As soon
as a pile reaches 11, whoever
has the guitar pick takes the
pile and then passes the
pick to the player
on their left.

TH RD GAME THAT TURNS IT UP PA
THE VALUE OF THE DISCARD PILE IS LESS THAN 11.
If you play a card and the pile adds up to less than 11, the round simply passes to the
next player.

THE VALUE OF THE DISCARD PILE IS EXACTLY 11.
If you play a card and the pile adds up to exactly 11, take the discard pile and give it to
another player. (That player should turn the cards face down in a pile off to their side, to
be counted at the end of the game.) The round continues with the player on your left,
who starts a new discard pile with any card from their hand.
EXAMPLE:
THE VALUE OF THE DISCARD PILE ADDS UP TO MORE THAN 11.
If you can only play a card that makes the discard pile add up to more than 11, you must
take the pile of cards. (First add a card from your hand to the pile and then place it face
down to your side.)

ELEVEN: Amp it up with the Eleven card!
When you play an Eleven card, this takes a discard pile
straight to 11.
Give the pile to another player.
QUIET!: Beware the librarian, for she is all powerful!
This card can do two things:
1. When someone plays an Eleven card and is about to give away the
pile, you can instantly play a Quiet! card on top of it (even out of turn).
When this happens, the player who played the Eleven card must take
the pile. (Note: You cannot play a Quiet! card if a pile adds up to 11
only using number cards.)
2. If you play a Quiet! card on a normal turn, it automaticaly reduces
the value of a discard pile to 0. Other players may continue to play on
that pile.
