*Belt clip can be mounted on either side of the stapler. To switch sides, remove #2 Phillips screw,
lift clip and bracket, and move to mounting recess on opposite side. Place clip and bracket and
screw into place and secure by firmly tightening the screw into place. Use manual screwdriver
only; do not overtighten.

*La pince pour ceinture peut être installée de chaque côté de l’agrafeuse. Pour la changer de côté,
retirez la vis à tête cruciforme no2, soulevez la pince et son ancrage et déplacez-les dans l’encoche de
montage du côté opposé. Tenezlapince et son ancrage en place, puis fixez-les en serrant fermement
la vis. Utilisez uniquement un tournevis manuel; ne serrez pas trop fort.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Use only on wood frames / structures of low or medium density. Hard woods may cause
malfunction or partial staple penetration. Always ensure proper staple size is loaded in cable stapler.
USE ONLY WITH KLEIN

STAPLES
Determine appropriate staple size for cable type (see staple size guide on side of stapler):
• 450-003 - 19/32" for: NM: 14/3, 14/3G, 12/3, Qty 1 or 2 Coax, or Qty 1 to 3 CAT3/5e/6/6A
• 450-004 -
31/64" for: NM: 14/2, 14/2G, 10/2, 10/2G, or Qty 1 or 2 speaker wires
LOADING STAPLES (FIG. 1)
1. Hold stapler upside down, depress

2. Insert appropriate staple, with the legs pointing up.
3. Firmly push the

closed.
NOTE: DO NOT mix staples of different sizes. Partial strips, damaged strips or mixing of different sized
staples may jam the stapler.
STAPLING CABLE
1. Locate stapler over cable, ensuring cable is contained within the
Cable Guides

for entire length of
stapler, front to back.
2. Press Handle

firmly downward to release staple.
3. If staples jam, ensure that you are using the proper staple size and tension setting. Also ensure that
you are not attempting to staple into a surface that cannot be penetrated by a staple. In the event of a
jam, clear jammed staple gently, wearing gloves to prevent injury to hands.
CLEARING DEBRIS
Should debris (sawdust, shavings, etc.) build up inside the mouth of the Staple Discharge Area

5. Remove all staples from stapler.
6. Firmly push the
Push Rod Release Latch

closed.
7. Hold the stapler upright and gently tap the bottom of the stapler on a solid surface to loosen debris.
8. Ensure there are no staples loaded into stapler. Ensure Staple Discharge area is pointed in a safe
direction or directly into a trash bin, then depress the Cushioned Handle
1
to perform a "dry fire" to
eject any gathered debris. Repeat as necessary.
9. If any debris remains on the outside of the stapler, gently wipe down with a cloth.
WARNINGS
Read all instructions thoroughly prior to use. Failure to read, understand, and follow all instructions
may result in serious injury.
• Never work on or near live electric circuits.
• Always wear approved eye protection and hearing protection.
• Keep fingers clear of staple discharge area when operating or clearing a jam.
• Only direct staple discharge towards surface intended to be stapled; never point towards any body part.
• Ensure correct staple size is selected before discharging.
• Use proper positioning of the cable guide to prevent staples from piercing the cable
• Always be cautious of potential hazards such as electrical wiring, damp or wet conditions, unstable surfaces.
• For professional use only.
• Keep away from children.
The Klein Tools Cable Stapler features a forward action for greater stability. It is designed to allow user to
push the handle, rather than squeeze, delivering easy, consistent performance. The staples are released
from the front end of stapler, nearest to where the handle is pressed down. A cable guide along the entire
bottom surface protects the cable from being crushed during the stapling process.
