Precautions
Location
Using the unit in the following locations can result in a malfunction.
• In direct sunlight.
• Locations of extreme temperature or humidity.
• Excessively dusty or dirty locations.
• Locations of excessive vibration.
• Close to magnetic elds.
Power supply
Be sure to turn the power switch to OFF when the unit is not in use.
Remove the battery in order to prevent it from leaking when the unit is
not in use for extended periods.
Interference with other electrical devices
Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception
interference. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and
televisions.
Handling
To avoid breakage, do not apply excessive force to the switches or
controls.
Care
If the exterior becomes dirty, wipe it with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use
liquid cleaners such as benzene or thinner, or cleaning compounds or
ammable polishes.

Keeping foreign matter out of your equipment
Never set any container with liquid in it near this equipment. If liquid gets
into the equipment, it could cause a breakdown, re, or electrical shock.

Synchronization
The count timing for two or more SyncMetronome devices can be
synchronized. The SyncMetronome device that drives the base tempo
is called the “master, and the other SyncMetronome devices that will
follow that tempo in sync are called “slaves”.
 Thisdeviceusesinfraredcommunicationwhensyncingwithotherdevices.
Donotusethesyncfunctionsaroundotherdevicesthatuseinfraredlight,or
aroundplasmaTVs.
1. Match the protruding part of the SyncMetronome that will be
the master to the recessed part of the SyncMetronome that will
be the slave, as shown in the
diagram.
2. Press the SYNC buon on the
SyncMetronome that will be
the master.
TIP When synchronizing three
or more devices, connect the
SyncMetronome that will be
the slave, as shown in the
diagram below., and press
the SYNC buon on the mas-
ter SyncMetronome device.
 Oncethesynchronizationseingshavebeenmade,theslaveSyncMetro-
nome’sseingswillbereplacedwiththoseofthemaster.(ExcepttheVolume
seing.)
 SynchronizationwillbecancelediftheTempoorBeatseingsarechanged.
Muting the device
The metronome sounds can be muted.
1. Hold down the SYNC buon. Press the SYNC buon to cancel
muting.

 Wheninsertingorreplacingthebaery,turnothedevice’spower.
 Makesuretoobservethecorrectpolarity.
Turning on the power
1. To turn on the power, hold down the MODE button until the
display lights.
2. To turn o the power, hold down the MODE buon until the
display goes dark.
 Thedisplaywillblinkifthebaeryhasworndown.Whenthishappens,
replacethebaeryassoonaspossible.
Using this device
Press the MODE buon to switch between the seing screens for Tempo
(), Beat ( ), and Volume ( ) in that order.), Rhythm (
Setting the tempo
1. Press the MODE buon to display the Tempo seing screen, and
use the jog switch to set the tempo from

Slide and hold the jog switch to make the tempo continue to change.
Setting the volume
1. Press the MODE buon to display the Volume seing screen, and
use the jog switch to select the volume from Volume: Low
to Volume: High.

Setting the beat and rhythm
1. Press the MODE buon to display the Beat or Rhythm seing
screens.
2. Use the jog switch to set the beat and rhythm.
Beat: Select a beat from (0 beat) to (9 beat).
