KETTLE
Intended Use
This device is intended for heating water for house-
hold use. It is not intended for use with other liquids
or for commercial use.

fuse (12A) may be triggered due to the high

Safety Instructions
To avoid the risk of fatalities from electric
shocks:
• Make certain that the base twith the electrical
connections never comes into contact with
water! Let the base tbecome completely dry
before using if it has accidentally become wet.
• Only use the hot water kettle with the supplied
base t.
• Make sure that the power cord never becomes
wet or damp during operation. Lay the cord such
that it cannot be pinched or otherwise
damaged.
• Arrange for defective power plugs and/or
cables to be replaced as soon as possible by a
qualified technician or by our Customer Service
Department to avoid the risk of injury.
• Always pull the plug out of the power socket
after use. Switching off the device is not sufficient
because the device receives power as long as
the power plug is connected to the socket.
Ensure that the appliance, the power cable
and the power plug are NEVER submersed
in water or other fluids.
To prevent the risk of fire or injury:
• Always heat water with a closed lid q, otherwi-
se the automatic cut-out mechanism doesn’t
work. Boiling water can then spray out over the
edge.
• Hot steam clouds may be released. The kettle u
is also very hot during operation. Wear oven
mits.
• Make certain that the device rests firmly and ver-
tically before switching it on. Boiling water can
cause an unstabile kettle to fall over.
• Do not use an external timing switch or a separate
remote control system to operate the appliance.

Temperature regulator in the boiling range
• The devices switches off automatically and the
operating light rgoes out as soon as the water is
at a full boil. The ON/OFF switch esprings out.
In order to keep the water warm after bringing it to
a boil, set the temperature regulator yin the keep
warm range.
Press the ON/OFF switch edown, until it snaps in.

The left end of the keep warm range indicates the
lower temperature. The right end of the keep warm
range indicates the higher temperature.
(The water does not start boiling in the keep warm
range!).
• After reaching the desired temperature, the ap-
pliance switches off the heating process. The
ON/OFF switch eand the operating lights r
remain switched on.
Because the device is equipped with a heat
maintenance function, the device automatically
begins reheating as soon as the water tempe-
rature falls below the set temperature.
The appliance heats until the desired tempera-
ture is reached. Make sure that the appliance
does not automatically switch on to the keep
warm function. Therefore, do not leave the
appliance unsupervised!
• As soon as the kettle uis lifted from the base
t, the ON/OFF switch
ejumps out and the
operating lights rswitch off.
• In order to halt the heating process, push the
ON/OFF switch eup again. The operating
light rgoes out then as well.
Avoid setting the temperature regulator
yin
the transition range, as the water can start boi-
ling on account of varying filling levels.
Cleaning and Care
Danger!: Do not open any part of the
housing. There are no operating elements in-
side. An open housing can create the risk of
a life-threatening electrical shock.
Never submerse any parts of the device in
water or other liquids! This can create the
risk of a life-threatening electrical shock if
residual liquid comes into contact with
powered components.
Before cleaning the device, ....
• First pull the power plug out of the power socket
and let the device cool completely.
• Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cord
with a slighly damp cloth. Always dry the device
well before using it again.
• Never use any cleansers, abbrasive substances
or solvents. These can damage the device.
In the event of calcium deposits
• Purchase a decalcifying agent suitable for use
with food containers from a household goods
stores (e.g. coffee machine decalcifier).
• You can use a suitable product from a
specialised dealer for the stainless steel
container bottom.
Removing / replacing the spout screen
• Open the lid q completely.
• Press down on the edge of the spout screen o
from above in order to remove it toward the insi-
de.
• Clean the spout screen owith a lightly
moistened wash cloth.
• After cleaning, insert the spout screen ofrom
above and press it firmly into place.

• Should the scale deposits in the pourer sieve o
be firmly settled, lay it in a water-vinegar solution,
with a ratio of 6:1, for a few hours. The scale
deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the pourer
sieve owith lots of clear water.
Storage
Let the device cool completely before storing it.
• Wind the power cord around the holder on the
bottom of the device.
• Store the device in a dry place.
Disposal
Do not dispose of the appliance in your
normal domestic waste. This product is
subject to the European guideline
2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved dis-
posal centre or at your community waste facility.
Observe the currently applicable regulations.
In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal
centre.
Dispose of all packaging materials in an
environmentally friendly manner.
Warranty & Service
The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from
the date of purchase. The appliance has been ma-
nufactured with care and meticulously examined be-
fore delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of
purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please
make contact by telephone with our Service Depart-
ment. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for
your goods be assured.
The warranty covers only claims for material and
manufacturing defects, but not for transport dama-
ge, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile com-
ponents, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for
private use only and is not intended for commercial
use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and
improper handling, use of force and internal tampe-
ring not carried out by our authorized service
branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any
way by this warranty.
The warranty period will not be extended by repairs
made under warranty. This applies also to replaced
and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant
on purchase must be reported immediately after un-
packing the appliance, at the latest, two days after
the purchase date. Repairs made after the expira-
tion of the warranty period are subject to payment.

Käyttötarkoitus
Laite on tarkoitettu kotitalousveden lämmittämiseen.
Sitä ei ole tarkoitettu muiden nesteiden kanssa
käytettäväksi tai ammatilliseen käyttöön.

Turvaohjeet
Hengenvaaran ja sähköiskujen
välttämiseksi:
• Varmista, ettei laitteen sähköisellä liittimellä varu-
stettu jalusta tjoudu milloinkaan kosketuksiin
veden kanssa! Anna jalustan tkuivua kunnolla,
jos se on jostain syystä kostunut.
• Käytä vedenkeitintä vain mukana toimitetun
jalustan tkanssa.
• Pidä huolta siitä, ettei virtajohto kastu konetta
käytettäessä. Vedä virtajohto siten, ettei johto tar-
tu, puristu tai vaurioidu muulla tavalla.
• Anna valtuutetun ammattihenkilöstön vaihtaa
vaurioitunut verkkojohto tai verkkopistoke
välittömästi uuteen vaarojen välttämiseksi.
• Irrota pistoke pistorasiasta aina käytön jälkeen.
Pelkästään virran katkaiseminen ei riitä, koska
laitteessa on virta niin kauan, kunnes pistoke
irrotetaan pistorasiasta.
Varmista, ettei laitetta, virtajohtoa tai verkkopisto-
ketta koskaan kasteta veteen tai muihin nesteisiin.
Palovammojen ja loukkaantumisten
välttämiseksi:
• Keitä vesi aina kansi qsuljettuna, muuten virta
ei katkea automaattisesti. Kiehuvaa vettä voi
muuten myös roiskua reunan yli.
• Laitteesta voi purkautua kuumaa vesihöyryä.
Kannu ukuumenee huomattavasti käytön aik-
ana. Käytä patalappua tai -hanskaa.
• Ennen kuin käynnistät laitteen, huolehdi siitä, että
se on tukevasti pystyssä. Jos laite ei ole tukevasti
paikallaan, kiehuva vesi voi kaataa sen.
• Älä käytä laitetta ulkoisen ajastimen tai erillisen
kauko-ohjatun järjestelmän avulla.

• Älä anna laitetta sellaisten henkilöiden (mukaan
lukien lapset) käyttöön, joiden fyysiset, aistilliset
tai henkiset kyvyt tai kokemuksen ja tiedon puute
estävät heitä käyttämästä laitetta turvallisesti, jol-
lei heitä ole aikaisemmin valvottu tai opastettu
laitteen käytössä.
• Selvitä lapsille laite ja sen vaarat, jotta he eivät
leikkisi laitteella.
Käyttöönotto
• Ennen kuin otat laitteen käyttöön, varmista että ...
- laite, pistoke ja verkkojohto ovat moitteettomassa
kunnossa
- laite on poistettu pakkauksesta ja kaikki pakkaus-
materiaalit on poistettu laitteesta.
• Täytä laite vedellä maksimimerkkiin asti ja anna
sen ensin kiehua kunnolla, kuten seuraavassa
kappaleessa on kuvattu. Älä käytä tätä vettä.
Veden keittäminen
Vaara: Pidä sähköinen alustaosa kaukana
vedestä – hengenvaara!
Varoitus: Turvallisuussyistä kantta ei saisi
q
avata, kun vesi kiehuu tai kun se on
erittäin kuumaa. Se voi aiheuttaa louk-
kaantumisvaaran.
Lämmitä vettä vain sen verran kuin tarvitset. Näin
säästät sähköä, vettä ja aikaa.
• Irrota kannu u, kun täytät sen!
• Avaa kansi qpainamalla avauspainiketta w.
• Kun täytät kannua u, pidä sitä pystysuorassa
asennossa. Vain siten vesimääränäyttö ivoi
näyttää oikean vesimäärän.
Täytä kannu u...
– vähintään minimimerkkiin, jotta
laite ei ylikuumene,
– korkteintaan maksimimerkkiin, jotta kiehuvaa vet-
tä ei pääse roiskumaan ulos.
• Sulje sitten kansi q...
• ja aseta sen jälkeen kannu ujalustalle tsiten,
että se on suorassa jalustalla t.
• Aseta lämpötilansäädin yhaluttuun asentoon.
Veden kiehumista varten on lämpötilansäädin y
asetettava keittoalueelle asentoon MAX.
• Laita nyt verkkopistoke pistorasiaan ja paina vir-
takytkintä ealaspäin, kunnes se loksahtaa pai-
koilleen.
• Merkkivalo rsyttyy, kun laite kuumenee.
Kun lämpötilansäädin on keittämisasennossa
• Laite käynnistyy itsestään ja merkkivalo rsam-
muu heti, kun vesi kiehuu kunnolla. Virtakytkin e
ponnahtaa ylös.
Kun haluat, että vesi pysyy keittämisen jälkeen
lämpimänä, aseta lämpötilansäädin y
lämpöasentoon.
Paina virtakytkintä ealaspäin, kunnes se loksahtaa
paikoilleen.

Säilytys
Ennen kuin siirrät laitteen syrjään, anna sen ensin
jäähtyä kokonaan.
• Kääri verkkojohto laitteen pohjassa olevan
pidikkeen ympäri.
• Säilytä laite kuivassa paikassa.
Hävittäminen
Älä missään tapauksessa heitä laitetta
tavallisen talousjätteen sekaan. Tämä
tuote on yhdenmukainen EU-direktiivin
2002/96/EC kanssa.
Anna laite hyväksytyn jätehuoltoyrityksen tai
kunnallisen jätelaitoksen hävitettäväksi.
Noudata voimassa olevia määräyksiä.
Epäselvissä tilanteissa ota yhteyttä paikalliseen
jätehuoltoviranomaiseen.
Hävitä kaikki pakkausmateriaalit
ympäristöystävällisesti.
Takuu & huolto
Laitteen takuu on 3 vuotta ostopäivästä. Laite on
valmistettu huolellisesti ja tarkistettu tarkasti ennen
toimitusta. Säilytä ostokuitti todisteeksi takuun voi-
massaolosta.
Ota takuutapauksessa puhelimitse yhteyttä huoltopi-
steeseesi. Vain näin voidaan taata tuotteesi maksu-
ton lähettäminen huoltoon.
Takuu koskee ainoastaan materiaali- ja valmistusvir-
heitä, ei kuitenkaan kuljetusvaurioita, kuluvia osia tai
herkästi vaurioituvien osien, esim. kytkinten tai akku-
jen vaurioita.
Tuote on tarkoitettu ainoastaan yksityiseen, ei kau-
palliseen käyttöön.
Väärä tai asiaton käyttö, väkivallan käyttö ja mui-
den kuin valtuutetun huoltopisteen suorittamat kor-
jaukset aiheuttavat takuun raukeamisen. Tämä takuu
ei rajoita kuluttajan lakisääteisiä oikeuksia.
Takuukorjaus ei pidennä takuuaikaa. Tämä koskee
myös vaihdettuja ja korjattuja osia. Mahdollisista jo
ostettaessa olemassa olevista vahingoista ja puuttei-
sta on ilmoitettava välittömästi pakkauksesta purka-
misen jälkeen, kuitenkin viimeistään kaksi päivää
ostopäiväyksen jälkeen. Takuuajan jälkeen suoritetut
korjaukset ovat maksullisia.
