Unpacking the Loudspeaker
After unpacking the unit, please check carefully for damage. If damage is found, please notify your supplier at once. You, the consignee, must instigate any claim.
Please retain all packaging in case of future re-shipment.
System Requirements – Passive and Bi-amped Loudspeakers
VSX118B, VSX115B, VSX 12.2BP, VSX 8.2BP, and VSX 10BP subwoofers operate as a passive system and require only one amplier channel.
VSX218B and VSX215B subwoofers have switchable inputs to allow operation in parallel or discrete modes. Parallel operation connects both drivers in
parallel internally and requires 1 amplier channel. Discrete operation connects each driver separately to the two channels of the input and therefore requires
2 amplier channels.
To avoid wasting amplier power, you should use heavy-duty speaker cable, with a minimum wire size of 1.5 mm2 (16 AWG), and preferably 2.5 mm2 (14 AWG) for
longer runs. Use larger wire sizes for speakers wired in parallel. For extreme cable lengths, be aware of cable impedance and resistive losses. Always observe the
correct polarity.
Amplier Considerations
The VSX series loudspeaker enclosures should be driven by high quality power ampliers designed for true professional use. Power ampliers should be capable of
delivering long term broadband power equal to half the loudspeaker’s peak power rating at its stated nominal impedance. The use of underpowered ampliers must
be avoided as heavily clipped signals can cause permanent loudspeaker damage.
Limiters, crossovers and equalisation points must be set in accordance with the settings provided on the Tannoy website. This will ensure the optimum sound quality
and long-term reliability as well as protection from damage. Neutrik speakON* NL4 locking input connector(s) and 4-way barrier strip(s) are provided, allowing
options for input and link, passive, bi-amp, parallel and discrete operation.

Mounting and Fixing
VSX series cabinets are designed with multiple internal rigging points to suit many possible mounting methods in permanent installations. All cabinets can be simply
suspended using optional M10 shoulder eyebolts coupled to the internal rigging points provided. Remove the appropriate countersunk screws and replace them
with eyebolts, which must have a thread length of at least 18 mm. Cabinets may be hung upside down if required.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The mounting of a permanently installed sound system may be dangerous unless undertaken by qualied personnel with the required experience
and certication to perform the necessary tasks. Walls, oors or ceilings must be capable of safely and securely supporting the actual load. The mounting accessory
used must be safely and securely xed both to the loudspeaker and to the wall, oor or ceiling.
When mounting rigging components on walls, oors or ceilings, ensure that all xings and fasteners used are of an appropriate size and load rating. Wall and ceiling
claddings, and the construction and composition of walls and ceilings, all need to be taken into account when determining whether a particular xing arrangement
can be safely employed for a particular load. Cavity plugs or other specialist xings, if required, must be of an appropriate type, and must be tted and used in
accordance with the maker’s instructions.
The operation of your speaker cabinet as part of a own system, if installed incorrectly and improperly, can potentially expose persons to serious health risks and
even death. In addition, please ensure that electrical, mechanical and acoustic considerations are discussed with qualied and certied (by local state or national
authorities) personnel prior to any installation or ying.
Make sure that speaker cabinets are set up and own by qualied and certied personnel only, using dedicated equipment and original parts and components
delivered with the unit. If any parts or components are missing please contact your Dealer before attempting to set up the system.
Be sure to observe the local, state and other safety regulations applicable in your country. Music Tribe, including the Music Tribe companies listed on the enclosed
“Service Information Sheet”, assumes no liability for any damage or personal injury resulting from improper use, installation or operation of the product. Regular
checks must be conducted by qualied personnel to ensure that the system remains in a secure and stable condition. Make sure that, where the speaker is own, the
area underneath the speaker is free of human trac. Do not y the speaker in areas that can be entered or used by members of the public.
Speakers create a magnetic eld, even if not in operation. Therefore, please keep all materials that can be aected by such elds (discs, computers, monitors, etc.) at a
safe distance. A safe distance is usually between 1 and 2 metres.

Conguration requise - Haut-parleurs passifs et bi-ampliés
Les subwoofers VSX118B, VSX115B, VSX 12.2BP, VSX 8.2BP et VSX 10BP fonctionnent comme un système passif et ne nécessitent qu’un seul canal d’amplication.
Les subwoofers VSX218B et VSX215B ont des entrées commutables pour permettre un fonctionnement en mode parallèle ou discret. Le fonctionnement en parallèle
connecte les deux pilotes en parallèle en interne et nécessite 1 canal d’amplicateur. Le fonctionnement discret connecte chaque pilote séparément aux deux canaux
de l’entrée et nécessite donc 2 canaux d’amplication.
Pour éviter de gaspiller la puissance de l’amplicateur, vous devez utiliser un câble d’enceinte robuste, avec une taille de l minimale de 1,5 mm2 (16 AWG), et de

Wymagania systemowe - głośniki pasywne i bi-amp
Subwoofery VSX118B, VSX115B, VSX 12.2BP, VSX 8.2BP i VSX 10BP działają jako system pasywny i wymagają tylko jednego kanału wzmacniacza.
Subwoofery VSX218B i VSX215B mają przełączane wejścia umożliwiające pracę w trybie równoległym lub dyskretnym. Praca równoległa łączy wewnętrznie
oba sterowniki równolegle i wymaga 1 kanału wzmacniacza. Praca dyskretna łączy każdy sterownik osobno z dwoma kanałami wejścia i dlatego wymaga 2
kanałów wzmacniacza.
