Description
The PRO 47T is a wide-range condenser microphone with a cardioid polar
pattern. It is designed to provide clear, intelligible sound reproduction in
a wide range of settings, such as conferences, courtrooms, houses of
worship and other demanding sound pickup applications.
The small-diameter double gooseneck design permits highly exible
positioning while maintaining a smooth, well-contoured appearance. The
PRO 47T stands 315.0 mm (12.40") from the table or podium; it is also
available in a 401.0 mm (15.79") version as PRO 47TL. The two models are
identical in all other respects.
The microphone requires 9V to 52V phantom power for operation.
The microphone's cardioid polar pattern provides a 120° angle of
acceptance.
The microphone includes a 3 m (9.8') permanently attached cable with
an XLRM-type connector, which allows it to be plugged directly into an
XLRF-type jack or cable connector.
The microphone comes equipped with a foam windscreen and a 5 / "- 27 8
threaded mounting stud for securing the microphone to a permanent
mounting surface. The microphone is enclosed in a rugged housing with
a low-reectance black nish.
Operation and Maintenance
The PRO 47T requires 9V to 52V phantom power for operation.
Output low impedance (Lo-Z) balanced. The signal appears across Pins
2 and 3; Pin 1 is ground (shield). Output phase is “Pin 2 hot”— positive
acoustic pressure produces positive voltage at Pin 2.
The provided foam windscreen simply slips over the head of the
microphone, effectively reducing wind noise or popping.
Avoid leaving the microphone in the open sun or in areas where
temperatures exceed 11 F (43° C) for extended periods. Extremely high
humidity should also be avoided.
Architects and Engineers Specications
The microphone shall be a xed-charge condenser designed for permanent
installation or portable applications. It shall have a cardioid polar pattern
with a uniform 120° angle of acceptance and a frequency response of
70 Hz to 16,000 Hz. The microphone shall operate from an external 9V
to 52V DC phantom power source. It shall be capable of handling sound
input levels up to 134 dB with a dynamic range of 106 dB. Nominal open-
circuit output voltage shall be 14.1 mV at 1V, 1 Pascal. Output shall be low
impedance balanced (100 ohms).
The microphone shall have a 3 m (9.8') permanently attached miniature
cable terminating in an XLRM-type connector.
A 5 / "- 27 threaded stud shall be provided for permanent installation to a 8
mounting surface. A foam windscreen shall also be included.
The microphone shall be a small-diameter alternating gooseneck design,
with an overall length of 315.0 mm (12.40") [401.0 mm (15.79")] and a
head diameter of 12.0 mm (0.47"). Weight shall be 63 grams (2.2 oz) [67
grams (2.4 oz)]. Finish shall be low-reectance black.
The Audio-Technica PRO 47T [PRO 47TL] is specied.
