Location of smoke alarms
Fit smoke alarms on each floor level in your home. Good places to •
fit alarms are where you can hear them throughout your home. For
example: -Top of the staircase - Stair landings - Between living and
sleeping areas etc.
For additional protection, fit a smoke alarm in each room – except in •
kitchen/cooking area, bathrooms or garage – where smoke or steam
can set them of accidentally.
Always make sure that the sound of the smoke alarms could be •
heard in the bedrooms.
More smoke alarms could give earlier warning, and increase the •
chance of safe escape and rescue from a fire accident.
