Assembly Instructions HEMISPHERE
Important
Hemisphere tents are recommended as a 2 person set up.
It is important to set up your tent prior to your trip to ensure there are no missing parts and to understand the
set up procedures.
We recommend setting up your tent at the start of each tenting season to check for wear or parts that may
require servicing.
Assembly
1- Choose a site with level ground and water drainage away from the tent. Clear the area of any sharp or
protruding objects that could damage the tent floor.
2- Unfold your tent and spread out the tent in your chosen location. Note the tent and sleeping room may already
be attached and can be erected in one procedure. You can place a ground sheet under the tent but be sure
the ground sheet does not extend out from under the tent.
3- The Hemisphere uses an Exoskeleton frame enabling the fly sheet and tent body to be set up in one
process.(The Hemisphere is also a large tent and is best set up by two people. ) Assemble all poles ensuring
ferrule connections are fully inserted otherwise breakage can occur. You should have 4 poles all with colour
tape identification.
4- Match the pole tape colour to the pole sleeve accent colour and insert the pole through the sleeve. Always
push poles through sleeves, never pulling, as pulling may separate poles at ferrules with potential breakage
occurring when flexed. Repeat this procedure for all 4 poles. When completed the tent will be laying flat with
poles fully inserted through the sleeves.
5- At this point it is important for one person to get inside the tent/fly and elevate the tent at the mid point
poles are crossing. This reduces set up pressure on the frame when most frames are broken.
6- The second person can choose a pole end and insert the pole tip into the corresponding tent corner grommet.
Continue moving to each pole end repeating this procedure. During this stage the hoops will be formed and the
tent will take shape.
7- Attach any clips, sewn into seams, to the frame.
8- Secure the tent in the desired location and stake down. Stretch out the rear vestibule and stake down.
9- You may need to connect the sleeping room corner hooks to the rings located on the underside of the fly. You
will need to go inside the tent to do this.
10- Guy lines can be staked out providing increased stability in the event of high winds.
Tips
It is important that you store the tent in a dry condition. If you put the tent away in the carry bag while it is
wet, even for a short time, it may become affected by mildew, which can damage the coating.
The suns UV rays can be harmful even with technical advances in fabrics. Prolonged exposure could result
in fading and possibly fabric disintegration. When choosing a site try to pitch the tent in a shaded area. Do
not leave a tent up longer than necessary.
Fuels can damage tents as can DEET found in many insect repellents.
All major seams are factory taped. Over time seams could experience delamination. Simply clean the seam
and apply seam sealer that can be purchased at most outdoor stores.
Avoid storing your tent in a hot location.
We recommend the use of a thin groundsheet or floorsaver with any tent for added protection from abrasion.
The floorsaver should be about 10cm. (4 inches) from the tent edge to avoid the possibility of channeling
water beneath the tent.
